MBKC Round 1 January 2005 Race Report

Formula Blue is on championship probation in its inaugural season at the club. This is an interesting class encompassing modern TAG principles and the weight advantages being distributed by use of carb restrictors rather than the old fashioned method of lead. With a rare appearance of multi MBKC champion Nathan Freke, and, as expected, it was Freke who was the quickest of the pack, taking both the heats and, although Jack Lee ran him close briefly in the final, it was all pretty comfortable in the end for Freke, taking the victory by some 3.763secs. Amy Scarisbrick, entering the class from Minimax, had a good day, taking second place in heat one and a very creditable third place in the final.
